Atlas Bomb Relay

AO: Atlas

When: 10/02/2018

QIC: I-Beam

PAX (): Squeegee, Swamp Donkey, Divot, Rusty, Sprocket

YHC had absolutely no idea what we were going to do today.  When there were 6 pax that showed, I knew it was going to be something with partners.
0530 hit and we moseyed to the coupon pile.  That’s right, on site coupon storage with numerous coupons to choose from.

Everyone grab a cinder for our warm-ups all IC. (maybe in this order)

  • SSH – 20
  • Cindy Swings – 10
  • Merkins – 10
  • Curls – 10
  • Toe Crushers – 10
  • Skull Crushers – 10
  • Maybe some other stuff

During the warm-ups YHC was still formulating a BD, but it all came together.

The Thang

Partner up
One partner with a Cinder Block and one with a choice of Atlas stone 35/50# (YHC choose the 50# stone and someone had to be my partner…)

Short haul to the top of a set of stairs where we deposited the stones.  Down the stairs and across the gym to where we will deposit the BOMBS.

Partner 1 will begin performing the first exercise in BOMBS – Burpees, while Partner 2 hauls the baton (Cinder) across the gym and up the stairs to the waiting stones.  Perform 10 clean and press with the atlas stones.  Return the baton down the stairs, across the gym to partner 1. Switch.

All partners performed BOMBS and 50 atlas clean and press, although there is a rumor one group just started performing thrusters….

All rounds were completed and we hauled all coupons back to the pile.  Short mosey back to the flag for a killer round robin of Mary.

  • LBCs, Flutters, Dying Cockroach, Peter Parkers, more Flutters, American Hammers and a 1.5min low plank.

Time. Sound off. Name-o-rama. Announcements and PRs.

All the above is insignificant in the world today. As Atlas was in COT praying about unspoken PRs and being with us throughout the week, an F3 Brother was being rushed to the hospital after collapsing on his return to the flag and the men there with him in shock from what happened only to hear worse news that Darth Visor did not make it.
As I was reading the post that Ha-Ha put out on Slack, I think I must have read it 20 times, over and over again in shock and with a heavy heart for him and his family.  I can only imagine what they are going through right now.
I will be at Big Creek on Thursday in celebration of Darth Visor and the fact that he was a driving force in the F3 Alpha Region and the community and fellowship of the Pax that I can proudly call my Brothers.
