Halpha Day: 9pm Ruck

AO: HALPHA Day

When: 2024-04-12

QIC: Stroller

PAX (7): Coat Check, Homer (Andy Darnell), Luau (79/200), Mater, Shortcake, Speedo, Stroller

Preamble:

YHC was able to grab the coveted 1st ruck Q for Halpha Day 2024. A hearty 7 waited for the clock to hit 9p as we recovered from Mater's opener. Judging by the attire (no gloves) and mumblechatter from the PAX, they thought this was just a recovery ruck. Well, Alpha's fearsome Ruck Q told me last year there will be no recovery rucks. We've got work to do.

Warm-O-Rama:

Quick ruck to the pavilion we never use next to the bathrooms. Rucks off, and complete some Toy Soldiers, Willie Mays Hays, Copperhead Squats, maybe something else. Put on rucks and carefully position ourselves at the intersection of the two paths which is a few feet from where we were.

The Thang:

PAX were informed we would ruck a half loop around the park (approx 1k). YHC and Speedo set a decent pace and we finished the loop in 9:19. We tucked away 9:19 in our heads and headed to the jumbo soccer field for a routine from BruteForce. 6 rounds-
  • 10 thrusters
  • 10 mercans (no ruck)
  • 10 bent over rows
  • Carry or wear ruck to the opposite side of the field and back
After we finished this, we returned to the intersection of the paths, and PAX were informed we would ruck the same loop and needed to finish faster than 9:19. The guys set a great pace and we finished in about 8:55. Guess I didn't go hard enough on the first round! We continued rucking along the newest section of the park loop, returning to the flag with about 2 minutes to spare. Hold rucks out in front until we were tired. Hold overhead until time.

COT:

Prayers for the event to continue successfully and safely- which were answered!

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Grateful that Irene kept this alive and that these men were willing to take the plunge.
