Shitter Was Full!

AO: The Wreck

When: 12/26/2022

QIC: aflac

PAX (8): Bear, Blue, Donor, Grouch, Hammy, Matt Shields-Norm, Yankee

Preamble:

An empty Q sheet on Christmas day prompted YHC to inquire with The Wreck AOQ whether holiday hours might be better to entice PAX out into the gloom during a lazy week.  With an affirmative confirmation and plenty of gluttony to pay for, YHC locked down the coldest day of the week to get things started off right.

Warm-O-Rama:

With temps hovering around 14 degrees, Q disbursed some handwarmers to those with enough abilities to open them (save for Yankee, who gave up) and directed PAX on a brisk mosey up the street for the following warm-ups:

  • SSH’s
  • Weed-Pickers
  • Hillbilly’s

The Thang:

Round one – warm up the core with work on the nearest hill, which happened to be the drive up to the community activity building:

  • 10 Merkins, 10 Squats, 10 LBC’s at the bottom.
  • Run backwards to the top of the hill (speed-bump).
  • 10 Merkins, 10 Squats, 10 LBC’s at the top.
  • Run back to the bottom.
  • Rinse/repeat for 3 rounds.

Round two – after a quick check on PAX for cold hands (which actually carried zero weight on Q’s decision-making process), mosey off towards the football field.  As we got closer, PAX noticed that the road was blocked due to a glacial field running down the hill into the large parking lot.  Bear made a great suggestion to slide down the hill, but PAX clearly didn’t apply enough non-nutritive cereal varnish to make it more than 5 feet or so.  It was generally concluded at this point that the urban glacier was a result of a sewage break (shitter was full!), and PAX wisely bailed on that idea and headed to the field.

Once gathered, Q directed all PAX to partner up for a crowd favorite – wheelbarrows.  Instructions, as follows:

  • Partner 1 wheelbarrow Partner 2 for 25yds, then switch roles.
  • Rinse/repeat the above the length of the field and back.

Some pretty sketchy wheelbarrows down the stretch with an inverse relationship between effort and mumble-chatter.

Round three – Q had every intention of extending wheelbarrowmageddon at the stadium steps, but instead opted for a quick round of ascending/descending merkins, as follows:

  • 1 Incline Merkin at bottom, increasing by one rep until reaching the top.
  • 10 Decline Merkins at the top, decreasing by one rep until reaching the bottom.

Round four – backwards mosey toward the parking lot, then forward mosey across the glacier towards the playground for quick round of Morning Call w/picnic table shrugs.  Once completed, head towards the grass hill for two nasty rounds of backwards lunges.  These were surprisingly difficult.

With T-5 on the clock, head back to the flag for a short round of Mary.

COT:

  • Blue brought it to our attention that Moonbeam lost her heating.  PAX standing by to assist with anything, if needed.
  • Pay attention to those around that have been struggling recently.  The holidays can be especially hard on those that may have lost a loved one.

AFLAC out.
