Informational Random (4)11’s

AO: Boneyard

When: 06/02/2023

QIC: Speedo

PAX (10): Boomer, FannyPack, Feathers, Mater, Mounty, Reboot, Scrooge, Speedo, Stifler (Jeff Levy), Brownie

Preamble:

Beautiful morning, as cool as it gets in June in ATL and plenty of cars coming in…let’s go!

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey around until we stopped for:

  • Weed pickers IC x10
  • Hillbillies IC x10
  • SSH IC x10
  • WGS
  • Arm circles
  • Michael Phelps

The Thang:

We strategically warmed up near the concession stand so we could start with one of my least-favorite exercises…donkey kicks.  Everyone grab some wall and give me 5 donkey kicks.  On the 5th kick hold legs on the wall until QIC says recover.  Rinse and repeat with 10 kicks and hold (a little longer this time) and 15 kicks (still longer hold).  Everyone was now awake if they were not before.

The plan was to do 11’s but with a couple of twists.  We would do four exercises 1 rep each then run and then do a separate set of four exercises with 10 reps each at the next stop. We then kept running (not back to the original spot) and stopped at random places along the way for a round of 2’s then run for the round of 9’s, etc.  The first four exercises were:

  1. Annies
  2. Jump squats
  3. Big bois
  4. Mike Tysons

The next four exercises were:

  1. Merkins
  2. Monkey humpers
  3. V-ups
  4. Mike Tysons (not a typo)

We stayed together along the way and enjoyed some Mike Tyson trivia (DOB 6/30/66…almost as old as me) of dubious accuracy.  Time did not allow us to finish this but we did get over the hump by doing the 5+6 round back where we started.

We then went to a corner of the big multi-purpose field where time required a quick modification.  We would travel in a figure 8 pattern stopping at each corner/intersection for 11 reps of one of the 7 exercises we performed in the first thang.  Strava art made easy.

With just a few minutes remaining we circled up for a quick circle burp for a total of 11 burpees.

Back to the flag for two quick rounds of mary before time was called.

COT:

Blood drive today! Many thanks to Dipstick for his efforts here.

Order your Boneyard F3 shirt!  Check Slack/Mater for details

Prayers for Feathers as he heads to the DMV.

Praise for little 2 year old Henry getting out of hospital after 8+ days in the PICU

Prayers for my friend Chris who is undergoing experimental treatment for his cancer at MD Anderson.

Prayers for my friend David who is awaiting what will be his 3rd heart (2nd one is failing and has been in there for over 30 years).

Naked-Man Moleskin:

YHC reminded the group that summer is an especially important time to keep the Q sheets filled at all of our area AOs.  Guys are traveling and crowds can be smaller but we are open year-round and need to represent regardless of who is in town.  Plus we often have down range guys visiting and need to show them a good time if you know what I mean.

Thanks for taking my lead this morning.  I’m sure Mike Tyson would be proud that he made the weinke!
