The pax assembled on this lovely first day of June, disclaimers were disclaimed, and we were off to mosey a lap around the parking lot and then circle up.
Typical warm up included SSHs, weed pickers, standing dying cockroaches (toy soldiers), and arm circles. We then moseyed down to the field for the thang…
YHC informed the group that we’d be doing an EMOM consisting of 5 burpees, 6 squats, and 8 big boy situps. People were told to cut a rep or two (or add one or two) as needed and to do their best to focus on form. They were also told this might get a bit psychological, as we’d be doing 25 rounds. Groans were groaned, burpee calculations were calculated, the grunge playlist was cued up, and the round timer began. We got through the first 9 rounds and then changed it up on the 10th round with a tribute to Stu and 10 gronks on each leg. On round 15 we did 10 monkey humpers and 10 jump squats. On the 20th round we did 15 hand release merkins and then finished strong.
To round out the morning, we formed two groups side by side and did 3 40 yard sprints. Then we stayed in two groups and did some dealer’s choice, with one pax calling out an exercise and running to the 40 and back while then others did that exercise. With that, we headed back to the (missing) flag.
Pepper reminded everyone there are plenty of openings on the Q sheet for the summer. Everyone is encouraged to add their name one time!
Prayers for Mutton and his family as they travel to attend his Uncle Mike’s funeral.
Today might not have been fun for some, but at least it didn’t involve running more than 40 yards. Thank you as always to the group for continuing to make this one of the best parts of my week.
