Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey the perimeter of the pitch then circle up for:

  • Hangovers OYO

The Thang:

Mosey to the top of the stairs near the newly-cleared wooded area where we lined up down the stairs for a Bucket Brigade. We passed a 40 lb sandbag down the stairs to the next person then ran down to get back in line to receive the sandbag again. Once at the bottom, line back up and bring it back up the stairs. YHC recommends a heavier sandbag if you try this one at home. Try at least 60 lbs and 80 would be excruciatingly fun. After deciding the sandbag would stay with us through much of the workout, we moseyed to the bottom of the always-there newly-discovered hill near the tennis courts. Partner up. P1 does burpees dora-style while P2 runs up the hill backwards 2x then flapjack. We did 50 burpees then 50 jump squats. We need some Georgia Tech nerds to measure the angle of that hill but it's significantly steeper than the BFH. And it had a lot more active ant hills that we were thankfully able to avoid. Mosey (with the sandbag) to the coupon pile at the back parking lot. PAX were instructed to pick a curlable coupon. We then did 10 curls, 10 overhead presses and 10 skull crushers. We then combined those into a 4-count exercise the exicon calls CPRs. We did 15. Drop the coupons and pick up the sandbag for a trip to the top of the BFH where YHC introduced the Crowd Pleasers. It starts in a plank position. Perform one merkin and then one groiner. While still in the plank position perform 2 merkins and 2 groiners. Continue with 3:3, 4:4 and 5:5 then come back down the ladder. No one killed me so I'm assuming the crowd was pleased. Down the hill (we left the sandbag at the top this time) for some Hatching Butterflies. On your six, with the bottoms of your feet together and arms over your head perform a big boy sit-up. We did 30. Now to get back up the hill. PAX were instructed to do 10 broad jumps followed by 10 alpha lunges followed by 10 Dragon Walks. We repeated this twice but still weren't even to the human hole cover. To make up some time, YHC called for Traveling Side Straddle Shuffles. It's a SSH but on the move. Face the side of the hill and do a 4-count SSH while moving up the hill then flip to face the other side of the hill and keep going. Let's just say the crowd was pleased in much the same way as the earlier Crowd Pleasers. Mosey with sandbag to the pitch where we lined up on the goal line (thanks for the correction guys) for some 11's. Pax were instructed to do 10 Dry Dock Crabs on the goal line then mosey to the penalty box line for 10 crab cakes. Rinse and repeat with 9:9, etc. Since the numbers did not add up to 11 the pax correctly informed me these were not 11's but in the end we did the same number of reps so shut your pie hole. We finished up with some escalating wind sprints. Starting on the goal line mosey down the field. As you cross each line add about 25% to your speed such that you're sprinting at the end. We went down and back at least once. Mary for time

COT:

Lots of activities on the calendar including Halpha Day on April 12-13, Spring Convergence on May 4 and in between those two events is the Smoky Mountain Relay. Check Slack for details. Praise for the multi-generational group of men that post and workout and spend time together. Prayers for safe travels for all the spring breakers coming home this weekend.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

It's an honor and privilege to lead you guys. Because of you all, I don't feel as old as I am. Thank you. --Speedo Out
