Sounded good but…

AO: Boneyard

When: 03/04/2022

QIC: Speedo

PAX (3): Zohan, Brownie

Preamble:

Last minute substi-Q for an ailing Morphine.  YHC knew he wanted to do a couple specific things but it would depend on the numbers.  Zohan rolled in as planned but was on tap to lead the QSource ruck.  He was told where we would be in case he wanted to join us.  Brownie rolled in unexpectedly and we were off.

Warm-O-Rama:

Ran around a bit to shake out the cobwebs then landed near the basketball courts for:

  • SSH x10 IC
  • Weedpickers x10 IC
  • Hillbillies x10 IC

The Thang:

Moseyed toward the playground where we found Zohan sans rucksack and he joined us.

The game was super 21’s.  Starting at the swings, perform 19 swirkins (feet on a swing, perform a merkin then pull your feet up as far as you can) then run to the top pavilion by the concession stand (which I’ve never seen sell anything in the 20+ years I’ve lived in the area) for 2 step-up-ups (all the way to the top of the table).  We stayed together by asking the gazelles to keep doing the appointed exercise until the 6 was in.  Around the 7/21 mark we stopped running (Q was gassed) and completed the remaining reps at the top pavilion substituting derkins for swirkins.

After a walking 10-count, we moseyed over to the field next to Chartwell (neighborhood next to park) for a game of 7’s.  Starting at the bottom, 6 big bois and then 1 monkey humper at the top.  The twist was the movement up/down the hill had to be something other than mosey and you couldn’t repeat a movement in consecutive trips.  So bear crawls, crawl bears, broad jumps, crab walks, etc. were used.  YHC challenged the pax to do at least one trip up the hill doing crawl bears which absolutely SUCK!!!

Indian run back toward the flag until YHC had to pull over and walk to catch his breath.  The other HIMs didn’t leave me and we arrived back at the flag right at 6:15.

COT:

Prayers for Wicka Wicka who just received a new kidney on Wednesday.  Prayers for those who are healing, hurting, and lost.

The spring offers a great opportunity to EH your friends, neighbors, etc. to get out to a beat down.  The weather this time of year is perfect to get guys hooked.  Let’s get the FNG counts up!!

Naked-Man Moleskin:

I would love it if we had 20 pax at each beat down.  But I also love it when just a few guys post and we just make it happen.  As I was laying on the ground after doing some sit-ups, sucking wind, I looked up at the night sky and was just thankful to be outside working hard with some guys who totally push me to get better.  It’s something you cannot replicate alone.  That’s why we EH and show up even when it’s difficult and we would rather sleep.  I learned this from the F3 Alpha HIMs and am thankful to be a part of this community.
