Backwardly running and broadly jumping

AO: The Hooch

When: 05/24/2021

QIC: BallBoy

PAX (18): Birdie, Maquire, Sunshine, Scrooge, Dinghy, Saint20, Zohan, Meatball, Animal, Wingnut, Boomer, Feathers, Perkler, Angus, ReadyMix, Sugar, Stuckeys

Preamble:

Nice cool morning greeted a large contingent in the gloom. YHC was determined produce a solid sweat in the PAX despite the low humidity, which will be fleeting as we enter the Georgia Summer.

Warm-O-Rama:

Quick Mosey with butt-kickers, high knees, and slides then circled up for some Warm-o-Rama:

SSH
Windmills
Hillbillies
Weedpickers
Mountain Climbers

The Thang:

Continuing to warm-up, PAX moseyed to the wall for partner exercises:

P1: 20 Derkins, P2: 20 Squats, Switch.
Repeat with 15 reps and again with 10 reps

P1: 20 Step Ups, P2: 20 Alternating Shoulder Taps, Switch.
Repeat with 15 reps and again with 10 reps

Moseyed across the street and down to the path below the school where it got fun…

Alternated lunges and broad jumps (crowd favorite) at each lamp post. When we reached the bridge, it was a bear crawl across just to make sure nobody would lose their footing.

Quick 10 count and moseyed on to the hill at the back of JCHS for some more partner work (and more sweat).

P1: Bernie Sanders up the hill, then run back
P2: BLIMPS! AMRAP each exercise while partner runs the hill. After both partners complete one exercise, move on to the next until complete.

We had plenty of time to ponder which exercise made it harder to run backwards up the hill. YHC figured it would be the burpees but the plank jacks were a contender. Imperial Walkers made a surprisingly strong case as the underdog though.

The Rabbits filled their down-time with some Mary while the 6’s finished up, then we formed a nice long line for an Indian Run back to the traffic light. It was every man for himself crossing the road Frogger-style and back to the flag for a few minutes of Mary.

COT:

This week’s high school graduates, travel mercies, new jobs, health situations and praises for help offered by the PAX over the weekend moving furniture.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Great group today and everyone pushing hard. Great to see RNG Angus making his second appearance.  Honored to lead a great group of guys and as I near my 44th birthday, I know I’m stronger now than 2.5 years ago when I started with F3.
