Don’t drop that table Squeegee

AO: The Wreck

When: 03/10/2021

QIC: AFLAC

PAX (11): Meltdown, Donor, Mad Dog, Squeegee, Bear, Sellout, Doogie, Vanilla, Tubbs, Backside, AFLAC

Preamble:

YHC had plans for a shoulder smoker but the sources and methods were thin as Q failed to plan ahead this time.  No matter – it was a good day to get tuned into the PAX and determine what inspired them (aka, made the suffer) the most.

Warm-O-Rama:

With 0530 on the clock, Q led PAX on a mosey up the hill past the CAB (Community Activity Building) to the gymnastics parking lot for the following warm-ups:

  • Plank Jacks
  • Hillbillies
  • Abe Vigodas

Once finished, short mosey down to the football field to get things started.

The Thang:

Q wanted to soften the shoulders up a bit by starting with a round of catch-me-if-you-can, bears & crabs style.  Instructions were simple – Partner 1 would start crab-walking around the perimeter of the football field while Partner 2 did 5 BBS.  Once completed, Partner 2 would bear-crawl to catch Partner 1 where they would switch roles.  Rinse & repeat around the entire perimeter of the football field.

Next up, Q led PAX to the concrete stadium for a round of descending/ascending Merkins.  Starting at the top of the stadium, PAX were directed to bear-crawl down the stadium while performing Decline Merkins at each step, starting with 10 reps and reducing by 1 for each step until reaching the bottom.  Air-chair for the six.  Once completed, bear-crawl back up the stadium while performing Incline Merkins at each step, starting with 1 rep and increasing by 1 for each step until reaching the top.  PAX enjoyed that so much that they demanded one final round of descending Merkins, and who was Q to disappoint them.  Down the stadium with a final round of Decline Merkins until reaching the bottom.

Now that the shoulders were properly smoked, it was time to finish things off at the playground with a modified version of Morning Call.  Q directed PAX to select a picnic table for this exercise – each PAX would take turns doing Pull-Ups (# of repetitions of their choice) while the remaining PAX would perform Shrugs in-cadence, holding the table in the air as PAX rotated through Pull-Ups.

It should be noted that Squeegee may have spent more time sitting on his bench than lifting it (and we’ll ignore what Tubbs was doing at this point), but that was mostly due to his inability to make smart choices.  Perhaps it was some leftover effect from getting his bell rung on Monday, but we can all agree that composite benches weigh a crap-ton and should be avoided for this exercise.

With T-5 on the clock, it was time to run back to the flag for a quick round of Mary.

COT:

  • Prayers for Donor/Squeegee/Sellout’s elderly neighbor Frances.
  • Charity Beer Mile at Oak Street Bottle Shop this Saturday.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

This past year has been hard on everyone, but it has been especially difficult on seniors who cherish their time with grandkids and loved ones.  We all want to keep our parents and grandparents safe (as they are at the greatest risk), but we should all be aware of how incredibly hard this has been for them.  Take a moment out of your day to check on your elderly neighbor, or give your parents/grandparents a call.  It means more to them than you know.

AFLAC out.
