Back to the Basics

When: 06/02/16

QIC: Boomer

PAX (): Boomer, Crack, Nacho Libre, Def Con 2, Kookie, Sunshine, Foghorn, Hickory Stick, FNG Carpetbagger, FNG Geordi, Tater Tot (Durham), and Barker (Jax)

The humidity is here, and it’s safe to say it isn’t going anywhere for a while. 12 Pax posted including 2 FNGs (Carpetbagger and Geordi) and 2 visitors (Tater Tot from Durham and Barker from Jacksonville). Major t-claps to Barker who is recovering from a torn Achilles. First beatdown back even though he is not 100%. Crack also put in some solid work as Barker’s partner for Dora and wheelbarrows. Thankful for Crack’s willingness to put another pax’s needs, even a visitor, above his own wishes.

The Thang:

Quick warmup of SSH, cotton pickers, squats, and merkins. Mosey to the Field of Dreams. Back to the basics with a simple Dora. 100 merkins, 200 lunges, 300 flutters. Run to 1st base for first leg, run to edge of outfield for second leg, and run to warning track for third leg. Short mosey to the hill. Wheelbarrow up the hill and do 30 LBCs. Run down and do 10 boxcutters. Switch and other partner wheelbarrow up. Do 20 LBCs and back down for 20 boxcutters. Bear crawl up and do 10 LBCs. Back down for 30 boxcutters. Mosey back to field of dreams for YHC’s favorite closing move, 100 burpees in 10 minutes. Break it down to 10 burpees per minute. Great way to leave everything you’ve got on the field. Mosey back for COT and BOM.

Moleskin:

  • Prayers for Tater Tots’ brother, flying over Syria. Very thankful for bad asses like him willing to protect our country. Prayers for his family as well.
  • Prayers for Crack’s M’s co-worker. Cancer sucks. Life’s a gift. Let’s not waste it.
  • Sunshine found his way from the Hooch over to the Rubicon. Watch out or you’re really going to get stronger coming to both AOs.
  • Great 3rd F this morning starting the True Measure of a Man. “The true worth of a man is to be measured by the objects he pursues.” Great time to examine ourselves and our pursuits. All our welcome to join us next week.
