AO: The Hooch

When: 11/09/2020

QIC: Speedo

PAX (15): Zohan, Dinghy, Homer, Scrooge, Sunshine, Birdie, Flo, Mcguire, Readymix, Meatball, Catfish, Saint2O, Ball Boy, Animal

Preamble:

With Monday staring us in the face YHC reminded the PAX of the five core principles of F3:

  1. Free of charge
  2. Open to all men
  3. Held outdoors
  4. Rain or shine
  5. End with a circle of trust

With an awkward ‘forgot where I posted’ disclaimer we were off.

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey toward the theater, hang a left past Iron Tribe and to the Hurricane’s parking lot for:

  • Weed pickers x10
  • Windmills x10
  • Hillbillies x10

Too much fun yet to come so we moseyed to the church.

The Thang:

We partnered up and discovered someone had written some exercises on the pavement.  Each pax did the designated reps for each exercise until the first PAX hit the target rep count.  Then they both ran an out and back ~150m and began the next exercise.  Here’s what was served up:

  • SSH x100
  • Lunges x100 (started as alpha-count but YHC called a modification to single count for the sake of time)
  • Hand release merkins (a real crowd-pleaser) x100 – YHC audibled by ‘allowing’ regular merkins after 50 HR merkins were achieved
  • LBCs x100
  • Mountain Climbers (alpha count) x100
  • American Hammers x100 – YHC modified by ‘allowing’ 50 alpha count and then 50 single count
  • Air Presses x100 – it’s just air
  • Derkins x100 – mumble chatter was strong
  • Sumo Squats x100
  • Burpees x100

To everyone’s disappointment, we were not able to get to the burpees so I made up for it by calling an Indian Bear Crawl which is a surprisingly long bear crawl with 15 pax.  After that torture was over we moseyed back to the flag for some dying cockroaches and dollies until time was called.

COT:

Q school at the Widowmaker on Saturday, November 21.  This is a good opportunity for guys who have never Q’d or rarely Q to be schooled by the master Q himself, Zohan, on best practices, etc.  At a minimum, you’ll get a great work-out in.

F3 Cherokee 24 hour challenge is coming up but don’t recall the date/location.  If you’re crazy enough to do this challenge you’ll find out the details.

Several AOs are doing Thanksgiving Day activities including Rubicon (touch football?) and a run in/through/around Medlock Bridge neighborhood (check with Flo for details).

Saint challenged us to get the Q sheet filled out through the end of the year.  www.f3alpha.com/q

Praises lifted up by Mcquire for good medical test results for a relative, prayers for peace and smooth transition of power in our country, praise to a Good and Powerful God who transcends all things on this world.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Thanks for allowing me to lead.  I always enjoy doing stupid stuff before 6:15 with my Hooch brothers.
