The Girlfriends Visit The Boys At Rubicon

Preamble:

So it’s been a while since I have Q’ed at Rubicon, my F3 ancestral home. The supreme motivator who goes by the name of “Lumbergh” had been needling me to pay a visit. So I did and brought friends.

I started out coming in the back entrance to the pool parking lot and parking the friends and the car back there then made a quiet move behind Wacky World and hung out by the bathrooms as the PAX gathered at the flag. I was finally spotted and moved into the light with 3 minutes to go.

After a quick introduction and disclaimer we moseyied over to the pool lot and picked up a couple of bear crawling Academians along the way.

Warm-O-Rama:

We circled up for the regulation F3 warm up:

• SSH
• Weed Pickers
• Imperial Walkers

All while the Academians did curls with the girlfriends.

Were PAX 1 runs to the opposite side of the parking lot while PAX 2 performs the exercise for the song that is playing. When PAX 1 returns, swap with PAX 2 and continue on until a new song = new exercise.

The playlist comes from the movie “Air”, not to be confused with “Air Bud”. Air is about Nike signing rookie NBA player Michael Jordan to a shoe contract that would cement Nike as the most desirable shoe in basketball. From a shoe company that could not give away basketball shoes.

It was good to see the old stomping grounds.  New asphalt in the flag lot is easy on the coccyx. Sure missed seeing the Rubicon old timers: Miller Time, Cookie, etc.
