Mosey to the School Parking Lot

The Thang:

Mosey over to the Perimeter school parking lot where YHC layed out the Billy Madison Back to School Wienkes. Beginning with Kindergarten we started 12 exercises and then had to run a lap around the parking lot. When PAX comes back you go to 1st grade but you begin with the Kindergarten exercise and then ad the 1st-grade exercise. Continue that for all 12 grades adding exercises as you go up and running the loop after each set.

Inspired by Billy Madison’s journey through back through school, this routine involves a running loop and exercise per grade. For best effects, perform the routine on school grounds. Begin with a loop (ideally single-file line leader style) to simulate the grade, followed by an exercise with 12 reps as the exam. This concludes 1st grade. Run the loop again, followed by the 1st-grade exercise x 12 reps plus a new exercise x 12 reps. This concludes 2nd grade. Continue with the loop and adding an exercise each time until you’ve completed one loop and exercise combo for each of the 12 grades. Great for mumble chatter and telling of high school victories. Celebrate graduation with snack packs for all!

Our Billy Madison Playlist brought back some old memories. I am honored and blessed every time I get to lead these men and be a part of something bigger than myself.  There was a time 25 years ago and a few times since when I felt like curling up in a ball and laying at home. Getting out here and having life and accountability with these men means everything.
