First Day of Training Camp

AO: The Hooch

When: 08/10/2022

QIC: Dinghy

PAX (11): Angus, Boomer, Flo, Humperdinck, Maguire, Scrooge, TURK, zima, StumpJumper (DR from F3 Davidson, DOUBLE RESPECT), TaterTot (2.0)

Preamble:

With football training camp in full swing across the country (as well as F3’s version of the Super Bowl coming up in September), YHC was inspired to REALLY mash the gas on the fitness accelerator for today’s beatdown. So with the disclaimer given, the team was off for some some grass/pavement drills, sled work, and other agility and strength drills to get ready for the season…..

Warm-O-Rama:

10 each of the following:

Weedpickers

Windmills

Moroccan Nightclubs

Copperhead Squats

Mosey to the back parking lot by ARI Steakhouse

The Thang:

  1. Circle up – “grass drill,” all pax chopping feet, each calls down, group does a Burpee, pops up and continues to chop
  2. “Sled Work”: Line up along parking lot. Drop to plank, conduct 10 count mountain climbers, pop up, high knees to next parking spot line. Rinse/repeat to first island in the parking lot, hillbillies for the 6
  3. “Blocking drills”: Line up along parking lot. Bear crawl through parking spot to next line, pop up and do a star jump. Rinse/repeat to initial starting point, plank for the 6
  4. “Routes and timing”: 11’s, with Carolina DryDocks, run to the first island, then Bobby Hurleys
  5. “Antonio Browns”: A variation on a Buster Douglas, pax lined up along the curb near the restaurants, then conducted Mike Tysons, Monkey Jumpers, and Air Presses. Done in multiples sets of 1-2-3 of each, up to 10-20-30. With each set, travel across the parking lot to the opposite curb in karaoke fashion (good for the hips!). Why Antonio Browns? Because you want to quit after 3 quarter of the evolution….
  6. Mosey to the covered area. Tabatas of BTTW alternating with squats, with active rest of air squats.
  7. Mosey to the flag and circle up. Conducted a Bloody Mary: Start with buzzsaws x10, 10 count low plank, move to gaspumpers x10, back to 10 count low plank, buzzsaws x10, 10 count low plank, move to flutter kicks, back to 10 count low plank, buzzsaws x10, and time was called (before we could get to American Hammer and LBC sequence)

COT:

Continued announcement for the blood drive on 8/12

Prayers for travel mercies, a good result Flo’s diagnosis for his knee, and for successful surgery for Stump Jumper’s friend, Tin Man.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

It was a challenging morning to get through minor aches and pains, but we nevertheless pushed through. What a great morning to push each other and to get stronger. Definitely a 5 wringer beatdown, and YHC appreciates the max effort put out this morning!
