Preamble:

This Day In History

Animal House was released in 1978.  Today we will pay homage to this cinematic classic by a friendly competition between Delta House & Omega House.  

Warm-O-Rama:

 Mosey to the dam. 

SSH’s, Weed picker, Imperial Walkers, Arm Circles, Covids, Mountain Man Poopers.  Mosey back to Parking Lot.

The Thang:

Let’s split up into 2 teams (Delta House & Omega House).  1 PAX will run shuttle drills all the way to the top and sprint back down, while the other PAX exercise in stations.  Move up the line when the DB returns.  If you get the Q right, you run back down forward.  Wrong = you run backwards.  First team completed WINs and holds a high plank / air chair until loser finishes.  

Phase 1:

• Station 1:  Mercans 
• Station 2:  Squats (w Coupon)
• Station 3:  American Hammers

Phase 2:

• Station 1:  Thrusters (w Coupon)
• Station 2:  Lunges
• Station 3:  Freddie Mercuries

Q1:  What campus was this movie actually filmed?  University of Oregon 

Q2:  Finish this line “Fat drunk and stupid _____________” is no way to go through life, son

Q3:  Faber College was the fictional University.  What was the tagline under the founder’s statue?  Knowledge is Good.

Q4:  Which character famously had a 0.0 GPA?  John “Bluto” Blutarsky

Q5:  The role of D-day was originally offered to which then-SNL Cast Member?  Dan Akroyd

Q6:  What was actually in the bottle of Jack Daniel’s Bluto chugged?  Iced Tea

The numbers didn’t quite work out as listed above, so we modified but still got thru 6 rounds of competition and that was enough DB shuttle drills to last a lifetime.

Delta House (Townie, False Start, Milli Vanilli, & Caroline) narrowly eeked out Omega House  (Mayflower, Uga, Walkie Talkie) by a score of 3.5 – 2.5

COT:

2.0 friendly workout, CSAUP, and blood drive are all coming up.  Check slack for dates, locations, etc…

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Somewhat surprised by PAX lack of knowledge of Animal House.  Especially @milliVanilli who prides himself as a late 70’s / early 80’s movie connoisseur.

All PAX enjoyed a sugar high from popsicles since my watermelon had gone rotten and then some iced coffee.  False Start shared a TNT around learning from other people and never assuming that going into a conversation you’re the only one with something to gain.  This was brought home by Mayflower sharing his experience working with folks much younger and YHC will take that to heart managing Millennials moving forward.
