PAX (12): Boomstick, Cheeks, Cliff - Chris Noto, Donor, Matt Shields-Norm, Meltdown, Moonshine, Sell-out, Shrink, Tubbs, Whiff

Preamble:

Never posted at the Wreck so YHC arrived a little early to make sure I was in the right place.  After taking a board of pain over to the pavilion by the playground I ran back and found zero pax but one tiny woman getting ready for her walk.  I said good morning and asked her if a bunch of guys meet in that lot to work out.  She assured me they do and that they “are very nice men” so I was still wondering if this was the right place.  Sure enough, within a minute or two cars started rolling in.  Thank you, Barbara!

With lots of new faces and a few familiar faces, I delivered a textbook disclaimer and we were off.

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey behind the baseball field to the path behind another baseball field for:

  • Hillbillies IC x12
  • Weedpickers IC x10
  • SSH IC x10
  • Michael Phelps OYO
  • World’s greatest stretch OYO

The Thang:

Headed back to the pavilion next to the playground where a board of pain awaited.  Simple concept…clear the board.  There were 16 exercises, each with 25 tick marks next to them.  Each tick mark represented 25 reps and when done, wipe a line off the board.  Exercises included:

  • Dips
  • Merkins
  • Derkins
  • Plank jacks
  • BBSUs
  • American Hammers
  • Pickle pounders
  • Crab cakes
  • Step-ups (or lunges)
  • Squats
  • Monkey humpers
  • Jump squats
  • Run to right field fence and back
  • Bear crawl to first light pole and back
  • Farmers carry two cinders to other baseball field and back
  • 10 burpees

Strong work by all to take care of the board.  We moseyed back to the flag with a few minutes to spare.  We had just enough time for:

  • Mosey 50% speed to far end of parking lot then 15 mike tysons
  • Mosey 75% speed to other end of parking lot then 10 mike tysons
  • Sprint to other end end and 5 mike tysons

Mosey back to the ‘flag’ for some mary before time was called.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Thanks for the warm welcome and for working hard this morning.  I really enjoy visiting other AOs and our region has a LOT of them.  If you can find the time to visit others I encourage you to do it.  You’ll meet other PAX, learn new exercises, see new scenery and maybe even learn something along the way.

I meant to add this truth nugget during COT this morning but forgot.  As yourselves, “what am I doing today to be the man I want to be when I’m [insert distant age for you]?”  If you’re 40, what are you doing today to be the man you want to be when you are 60?  If you’re 56 like me, what am I doing today to be the man I want to be when I’m 70?  You can’t wait until you’re 60 or 70 or whatever age you used in that sentence above to be that man.  You guys are already doing so much to stay strong, stay in fellowship and accelerate.  I just challenge you to ask yourself that question and then honestly answer it.  If you follow through I doubt you’ll be disappointed.

Thanks for allowing me to lead.  I’ll be back for sure.
