1 Year Anniversary Q and Iced Coffee Never Tasted so Good.

AO: Rubicon

When: 07/07/2022

QIC: Hollywood

PAX (14): Caffey, Caroline, Cookie, FannyPack, Focker, Hollywood, Isner, Krueger, Lil Hurt, lumbergh, MillerTime, Pinkey, Shooter, Special K

Preamble:

Some good mumble chatter on slack got the Rubicon gang all fired up.  And MillerTime promised TNT, HYC 1 Year Anniversary Q, and a Cookie promise of iced coffee in the morning if we could reach 10 HC’s.  A non-regular Rubiconian, Shooter, came for a visit and put us over the 10 HC mark.  I got a bit ambitious and tried to get us to 20 for an extra special gift, but it was not meant to be today.  With the short holiday week and vacations abound, we feel short of the 20 but the PAX that came out were ready to put in the work.  (That’s alright, my Baileys Irish Cream and Starbucks Gift cards for all will still be used wisely)

Warm-O-Rama:

5:30 came and after a quick disclaimer we moseyed up toward the large flag pole.  Only way we snaked through the parking lot with grapevines both ways, heels up and knees up and then started the warm up exercises.

Hillbillies, SSH, Weed Pickers, arm circles and COVID’s got the juices flowing.  Then we headed for the hill by the filed of dreams.

The Thang:

Started off with the first exercise I ever did with F3, 11’s on the hill.  Burpees on the bottom and Bobby Hurley’s on the top.  The humidity took it’s toll early and often and was oppressive at times but the PAX fought through it.

After the hills we headed for the small loop up next to the YMCA.  Everyone partnered up and we we did four laps per group.  One PAX would be doing an exercise while their partner took a lap around the track, switch roles and finish that exercise for one complete rotation.  First lap was Merkins, second was Bonnie Blaire’s third was Star Jumps and the last was LBC’s.

Had more planned but ran out of time, so took the scenic route back around baseball field to the parking lot and ended up at the Flag.

COT:

High humidity equals very sweaty dudes, and MillerTime and Caffey caught up with us after an 8 mile run leg which didn’t help.

Prayers for Lumbergh and his 2.0 as they head out for their mission trip, prayers for safe travels and they accomplish their goals while there.

A couple announcements that will be shared via slack, There will be a F3/FIA 2.0 convergence coming up at Wills Park, also Dark Vision event being planned for August, and upcoming blood drive July 22nd.   Check slack for all dates and times for all events.

After great iced and non-iced coffee were enjoyed by all, thanks Cookie and MillerTime as always, and a great Truth Nugget Thursday from MillerTime around the Power of One More by Ed Mylett.
