OK now I see where the FootPath app shows the elevation! Sorry fella’s

AO: Jailbreak

When: 06/30/2022

QIC: Valley Girl

PAX (5): Baskins, Inseam, Napalm, Spit Valve, Valley Girl

Preamble:

Planted the Storm Flag in lieu of the Jailbreak flag,  and waited as 4 PAX pulled in, including Spit Valve for his cherry-poppin jailbreak run!   I put the route together last night on the Footpath app.  Looked like a good 4.2 miles.  Didn’t really notice any elevation.

Warm-O-Rama:

Nope, just took off.  Come to think of it, I skipped the disclaimer.  Crud. Sorry Whiz.

I sent the route to my Apple watch and the footpath lady soothingly told me to head South down Castleberry.

The Thang:

The route was to take us down Castleberry about 1.5 miles, which had an uphill that I forgot about.  We took a right into Castleberry village and ran the loop.  The first part was all downhill. Oh boy, that means the return on the other side will be uphill, and oh boy was it!
Back to Castleberry for a short time North then left on Tolbert which would take us up to Kelly Mill. Wasn’t long before noticing the whole damn thing was uphill.  Jeez.  This route looked easier on footpath.  However, it was a great challenge and will be done again!

COT:

Napalm still looking out for his neighbor who recently lost his wife.

Mentioned the Cam Hanes book I’m reading – alot around fighting through the pain and discomfort and reaching deep down and accomplishing much more than you think you can.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

I was listening to a podcast the other day about the Blue Zone book and longevity.  A big part of those areas that live a long time is community, social interaction and support.  Things I didn’t have before but have a lot more of now with F3.  Great challenging run this morning with some great mumblechatter thrown in.
