Leadership Development Process

The Thang:

Great discussion today about the LDP.

We talked about Leadership, are some people truly naturally born leaders or is it a skill? If it’s a skill, as we thought it is, it can be taught and improved.

We talked about the 4 phases of LDP, schooling, apprenticeship, opportunity and failure. Sometimes the process is deliberate and sometimes unconsciously done. Deliberately done is more effective.

We talked about learning from failure vs. from success. Failure hurts and therefore we study what didn’t work more than what did work. Failure helps identify boundaries while success may mean we never pushed hard enough.
