Partial eclipse of the gloom

AO: Boneyard

When: 11/19/2021

QIC: Speedo

PAX (11): Dipstick, DIY, FannyPack, Mater, Meatball, Morphine, Soft Serve, Speedo, Valley Girl, Zohan, Brownie

Preamble:

A beautiful full moon, partially eclipsed, greeted the PAX on a chilly morning at the Boneyard.  YHC came early for a little setup and was pleased to see a parade of cars roll in around 5:25 followed by a couple more right at 5:30.  Disclaimer was given and we were off.

Warm-O-Rama:

Moseyed to the parking lot across from the fire station for:

  • SSH x12
  • Imperial Walkers x12
  • Weed Pickers x12
  • Michael Phelps OYO
  • Copperhead squats

The Thang:

Moseyed to the traffic circle by Park Place where we found a board of pain.  KISS…Keep it simple stupid…was the name of the game.  It was a simple elevator of pain.  Do the first exercise then come back and do the second exercise + the first exercise.  Rinse and repeat and pick up the third exercise (adding 4 reps), etc.  Here’s what was on the BOP (including total rep count for the couple PAX who were able to finish):

Run (12)

8 burpees (88)

12 Bonnie Blairs – alpha (120)

16 Big bois (144)

20 Merkins (160)

24 Flutters – alpha (168)

28 Shoulder taps – alpha (168)

32 Monkey humpers (160)

36 Mountain climbers – alpha (144)

40 LBCs (120)

44 Squats (88)

48 SSH

Exercises included a well-curated playlist (i.e. created in 10 minutes the night before).  Many thanks to Zohan for his unending compliments about my eclectic music selection.

At one point a VERY high altitude airplane or possibly the ISS flew directly overhead which was very cool.  Mumblechatter was minimal for some reason…probably too much sucking wind (at least for me).

With 2 minutes until time, I challenged PAX to run as fast as possible back to the flag.  It was a longer distance than YHC expected but all arrived safely just as time was called.

COT:

Prayers for Meatball’s family recovering from covid, patience/peace for students waiting to hear about early-acceptance day for UGA, wisdom for school leaders, teachers, staff, bus drivers, etc., and for parents who are navigating through life with their kids.

Sign up to attend and support the 2021 Santa Ruck.  Please check Slack for details regarding how to contribute $, food, or toys.  It’s a great event and YHC encourages all to attend.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Thanks for posting and working hard this morning.  It’s always a pleasure to lead you guys.  F3 is a game-changer for me and thank you all for being a part of today’s ‘fun’.
