Preamble:
YHC goes back to his ancestral homeland of Chicago next weekend for some family fun, before coming back around for the Thanksgiving Hot n Special 5k. The homecoming combined with the frigid, Chicago-like temperatures in the Alpha made a Chicago-themed playlist a perfect accompaniment for the beatdown. Two pre-runners broke a sweat before the PAX gathered, the PAX welcomed Valley Girl from Alpha North on tour at the Hooch for the Shuffle, YHC gave the disclaimer, and we embarked.
Warm-O-Rama:
Mosey lap with high knees, butt-kickers, and side shuffle.
Circle up on the side of the Indian restaurant for SSH, Weed Picker, Windmill, and Arm Circles.
The Thang:
YHC replayed a favorite format. Q plays a playlist. Partner up. During each song, Partner A does exercise A with a set number of Reps, while Partner B does exercise B AMRAP. Switch places when the rep count is reached, and continuously rinse and repeat until the song is over. When a new song comes, the PAX are given a new pair of exercises A and B.
In the “what goes around, comes around” theme, this weinke featured delightfully challenging Head-Tap Merkins debuted over the summer at Bushwood by Angus, and a killer combo of Mike Tysons and Bear Crawls debuted recently at The Tracks by Meatball. Moral: watch what you Q, because it may just come back around to revisit you.

Announcements: Hot n Special 5k at Bushwood AO, Thanksgiving morning 11/25 @ 6:30am, M’s and 2.0’s welcome. It’s an out-and-back, so it will be easy to modify with an early U-turn to shave down the 3.1 mile length if needed.

YHC had not Q’ed a non-IronPAX BD at his home AO of The Hooch in a while. Always a pleasure to Q where the former Sad Clown was first awakened (to a post-BD puke) and then gradually transformed into the HIM you see today. Glad to lead fellow HIMs in the gloom.
