What flavor was your bench?

AO: Boneyard

When: 10/15/2021

QIC: Speedo

PAX (6): Bo Knows, FannyPack, Speedo, ThunderLips, Zohan, Oxtail

Preamble:

YHC showed up a little early to stretch and plant the flag.  I noticed the amphitheater was open so modified plans were hatched on the spot.  PAX started arriving (incl. an FNG!) and before you knew it 5:30 had arrived.  A quick disclaimer and we were off.

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey behind the amphitheater to the gazebo by the playground for:

  • Weed pickers x12
  • Imperial Walkers x12
  • Windmills x12
  • Michael Phelps OYO

The Thang:

Mosey to the middle of the big artificial turf field.  Instructed PAX we were going to run in a star pattern starting with a corner where we would do 25 squats then return to the center for 5 merkins.  There were 8 points to the star so that totaled 200 squats plus 40 merkins.

But I must have read my invisible weinke wrong and decided to rinse and repeat, this time with 25 merkins at each point and 5 monkey humpers in the middle.  I can’t even tell you how happy everyone was with this routine.  I was told how many merkins some guys had done earlier in the week (as if I care) and my music choices were once again heavily scrutinized.  Regardless, when we were done, we had performed 200 merkins and 40 monkey humpers.

After a walking 10 count, we moseyed to the tables next to the field and tried some Coyote Uglies.  Partner up and P1 planks while P2 holds P1’s feet (wheelbarrow-style).  P1 attempts to put his hands up on the seat of the table and perform 5 merkins.  They then tried to go to the top of the table and do 5 more merkins.  Then flapjack.  Let’s just say this one is probably not going to show up too often but it was memorable for sure. One PAX asked another, what flavor was your bench, thus the BB title was born.

Mosey to the open amphitheater for 30 step-ups + 30 dips.  Rinse and repeat with 20+20 then 10+10.

We finished with some growing pains…30 LBCs followed by 30 BBSUs followed by 30 seconds of Superman.  Rinse and repeat until time was called.

COT:

We welcomed FNG Oxtail.

Reminder of convergence at Webb Bridge Park on 10/23.  Check Slack for details.

Prayers for wisdom and patience and kindness to all those around us.  We all have a story and those stories are sometimes tough.  The folks we come into contact with every day have a story as well so be kind and try to not make their day worse…or better yet make it better with a smile, kind word, etc.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Funs times at the Boneyard.  Thanks for the support and fellowship.
