Snowman Made Me Do It

AO: Big Creek

When: 07/21/2021

QIC: Whiz

PAX (10): Whiz, Mr. Hand, Napalm, Spit Valve, Sculley, Inseam, Schneider, Script Kiddie, Goldberg, Snowman

Preamble:

YHC swapped Q’s with Swiper for this fine gloomy morning and was honestly starting to grasp at straws planning for this BD.  Something told me I would receive inspiration during the pre-run (5 PAX total) and Snowman delivered.  Fresh off his magical journey to Fort Mill where he got to workout with DOAH and become completely enamored by the region up there, he shared that the BD was “intense”.  Not wanting the Alpha to be outdone, YHC asked what it was that made it so, to which Snow answered “more running and more reps….and they hold each other accountable to rep form too…”  That was all I needed to solidify the plan for today…

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey to the bottom of Mt. Kill-a-man-jaro for some SSH IC (Fort Mill did 30 yesterday, so naturally we did 31).  Hillbilly, sprinkler, and mt. man poopers (love you Hushpuppy) IC.

The Thang:

PAX were instructed to pair up for this one and that we’d be staying on the hill for the entire thang, which was very simple.

Each partner does the same number of reps at the bottom and top of the hill and stays together running up and down the entire time.  PAX were encouraged to focus on form over speed and call out others for cheating when spotted.

3 exercises for the duration with escalating rep counts.  Merkins, Squats, LBCs.  Start at the bottom of the hill then run to the top at the gate and back down again.  rise and repeat adding 20 reps each trip up and down.  All PAX made it through the 5th round completing a total of 300 reps of each exercise with just enough time to make it back to the flag.

Strong work put in by all and the form was on point.

COT:

Continued prayers for Sculley’s father and his entire family.  Prayers for some of Snowman’s friends who have a very premature baby and others with teenage kids both requiring surgery for sports injuries.  Announcement for convergence, Darth memorial, and support for shirts and Starting Line Q’s/presence.  Seems like an AlphaNorth clown car is in order before too long.

Sculley shared a great TNT about the deep bonds we form in the gloom and being intentional with our F3 brothers.  The workouts are great and important but the shield lock and long term close relationships are really what this is all about.  Reach out, be vulnerable, and embrace our innate need for male relationships in this life.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Always a privilege to lead and suffer alongside you men.
