“Man that was a lot of jumping”

AO: Big Creek

When: 04/25/2019

QIC: Inseam

PAX (5): Swiper, Olaf, Spit Valve, Body, and Inseam

Preamble:

It is finally time for YHC’s VQ. After over sleeping the morning of Spit Valve’s VQ, YHC could not get to sleep from fear of missing again. 5 alarms and a little over 5 hours of sleep later, YHC arrived 15 minutes early, beat only by The Body. As the clock struck 5:26 cars started to roll in and the pressure set in. With a goal to shake things up a little at the Creek, we proceeded with the following.

Warm-O-Rama:

Short mosey to the F3 pavilion where we circled up and did the following:

  • Toy Soldiers – 10 IC
  • Weed Pickers – 10 IC
  • Moroccan Nightclubs – 15 IC
  • Michael Phelps – OYO

The Thang:

Thang 1:

YHC thought it would be nice to take a little tour down Route 66 with the Pax. There just so happens to be 12 light poles around the grass hill in the center of the park, and we only need 11! After a quick explanation, we were off, stopping at the first pole to do 1 burpee, the second pole to do 2 burpees, and so on. In total, we will have ran 1 lap, stopped at 11 poles, and done 66 burpees (unless you’re name is Body and you did 68).  Sadly, with that 12th light post in the way, YHC did not see a way back without going where we came from. So we headed back down Route 66, this time with Merkins.

Thang 2:

Now back to where we started, we took a short mosey to the manhole cover in the center of the field to do Blackjacks (similar to 11s but the total is always 21). We started with 20 Bonnie Blairs, run to side walk, 1 LBC, run back, 19 Bonnie Blairs, and so on.

Thang 3:

20 minutes of blackjack and total loss of feeling in our legs later…we moseyed back to the side walk around the grassy hill where YHC asked the PAX to use their imagination and pretend this is a football field. The plan was to do the following:

  1. 100 yard dash – 100 Calf Raises; run back
  2. 75 yard dash – 75 Crab Humpers; run back
  3. 50 yard dash – 50 SSHs; run back
  4. 25 yard dash – 25 Star Jumps; run back
  5. 10 yard Bear Crawl there and Crawl Bear back

However, YHC called and audible 20 calf raises in and we ran back after 50 and skipped straight to the SSH 50 yard dash due to time. This seemed to resonate well with the PAX as our legs were now jello.  I believe Spit Value said it best when we said, “Man, that was a lot of jumping.” YHC thought he had planned a balanced BD, at least it seemed that way on paper, but jumping and leg exercises definitely seemed to be favored.

From there we moseyed back to the sun dial for some Mary where we each took a turn leading one exercise. 6:15 on the dot, boom, VQ accomplished.

COT:

F3 Alpha annual reunion at lake windward this weekend. Upcoming GrowRuck15. Bible study at The Body’s house tomorrow morning. Prayers for Bells wife’s speedy recovery.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

YHC has really enjoyed being a part of F3 Alpha, particularly this special group of HIM at Big Creek. The impact each of you have made on my life in the last few months is huge. I truly believe there was a hole in my life, perfectly filled by what F3 offers. I look forward to continued growth with these men, and appreciate all they, and F3, have done for my life thus far.
