Two at the MASTERS

Preamble:

There was some traffic this morning at The Gladiator, but it wasn’t other men from the PAX, it was a bunch of utility men performing electrical repairs.

I almost started recruiting them to join in the beatdown because, as it’s been one time before, a large crowd of ONE showed for this MASTERS beatdown.  Thank you for posting Shrinkage!!!!

Shrinkage and I began with a short mosey around the parking lot and then down to the pitch for a warmup and our first set.

Warm-O-Rama:

15 Windmills

The Thang:

With this beatdown, the exercises spelled out the word MASTERS.  The first set was completed on the pitch performing the following.

Modified Merkin Ladder:

At the pitch run to the opposite end of the field and perform 10 Merkins.  Run back to the other end and perform 9 Merkins.  Continue this process until you are back where you started for 1 Merkin.  10, 9, 8, 7,…1  M complete

The next exercise was Aiken Legs.

Aiken Legs:

20 Squats, 20 Star Jumps, 20 Lunges, 20 Bonnie Blairs

Run a lap and repeat.  After the second set, Shrinkage and I had a hard time getting our legs moving for the second lap around the pitch.  As I write this, my quads and glutes are still sore! MA complete.

We then had a short mosey over to the tennis court parking lot for some StairBarrow StepUps.

StairBarrow StepUps:

Partner up.  Same as step ups but at the curb in a wheelbarrow position.  Partner steps up with both hands to the top of the curb then his partner performs a squat.  The partner then steps back down from the curb and the partner performs another squat.  Repeat this 10 times.  MAS complete.

Tortoise and the Hare BOMBS:

Coupon Hill, One Large Coupon

Partner 1 treks up and down the hill with coupon while the other partner 2 performs the exercise.  After partner 2 completes the exercise, he runs after partner 1 and they flapjack.  Continue this process until both partners have completed 5 sets of each exercise.

5 Burpees, 10 Outlaws, 15 Merkins, 20 Big Boy Sit Ups, 25 Squats

We were running low on time and only made it through the second set of BBSUs.  MAS and part of T complete.

Even though we didn’t get a chance to completely spell out MASTERS, we were pretty spent and headed back to the flag.

 

COT:

Since it was just the two of us, we really couldn’t make a circle for our customary COT.  So, we quickly discussed breakfast and headed to the cafe for some well-earned grub.
