When: 06/24/2021

QIC: Dreamer

PAX (12): Speedo, Fire Drill, Laces, Beauty, Iron Head, Teebow, Delicious, Zohan, Hazard, Spandex, Snowbird, Dreamer

Preamble:

Today was a special day for the QIC – today marks 10 years of dating my wife! We began with a full and detailed disclaimer followed by a declaration of today’s theme: Find the Quitter! Let’s Mosey

Warm-O-Rama:

  • Quick Mosey around the parking lot, side shuffle left, side shuffle right.
  • Mosey to the Shelter with a quick left / right karaoke on the journey.
  • 15 SSH
  • 10 Weed Pickers
  • 10 second count of The World’s Greatest Stretch

The Thang:

SO – there was some confusion for the first exercise. Regrettably, despite telling Spandex the “Q knows that he is doing”, apparently I did not. After some PAX ran the wrong way and some ran the right way, the Q was able to provide new vision and clarity!

  • Break into groups – 1’s, 2’s, and 3’s
    • 1’s – run up the hill
    • 2’s – 10/10/10/10 (Merkins, Wide, Narrow, Diamonds)
    • 3’s – run reverse up the hill
    • After a slight modification of instruction, the Q made sure everyone got to run and do some LCBs

To bring clarity to the PAX, the Q called “All follow me” to the bottom of the main hill. The PAX asked who “Oliver” was and we continued without Oliver.

  • The Q called for a tried and true prescription of “11’s”
    • 1 Big Boy (bottom of the hill); 10 Leg Raises (top of the hill)
    • After between 5/6 rounds, the Q called for everyone to meet at the bottom of the hill.

“All follow me” was declared again (Anyone seen Oliver?)! The PAX raced to the main field and the Q instructed to get on the baseline

  • Get a partner.
    • 1 Partner Bear Craws as far as they can make it down the field without stopping.
    • Other partner does SSHs until Partner 1 needs a break.
    • Once the Bear Crawling partner stops, switch rolls
    • We went “Bilbo Baggins” style – aka going there and back again (down the full length of the field and back)
    • The gazelle grizzlies did more SSH for the 6

Mosey to the smaller field. Additional disclaimer clarification – “Is everyone ok with a COVID friendly partner carry?” The PAX confirmed they were

  • Get a partner of similar(ish) size
    • 1 partner will carry the other down the width of the smaller field
    • Once at the end, both do 10 Merkins, 10 American Hammers
    • Mosey back to the baseline. Flap Jack partners.
    • The Q reminded the PAX that if you carried your partner 2x, you were tricked.
  • Once done, we had time for burpees for the 6 and 10 more American Hammers.

Back to the flag!

COT:

  1. Prayers and joy that a PAX member is getting the support and help they need. We prayed for continued healing and peace in the name of Jesus.
  2. Delicious / Teebow – a reminder for others to join the challenge and give us a few VQs. Q encouraged the PAX to support others that haven’t Q’ed to give it a go

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Though this morning started off a bit rocky, I’m thankful these men were gracious and patient with me. It’s always such a treat to get to lead such men, if even for a little workout on a Thursday morning. Though we looked high and low – no quitter was ever found!

I pray for each of you – sons, fathers, husbands – that you would continue down the path of meekness; leaning into the Word of God. Each of you are leaders and examples of the Lord’s goodness. Blessed to share sweat with you.

Until next time!

Dreamer –
