Ernie Andrus is running from the Pacific to the Atlantic; from San Diego to St. Simons! He started his race on October 7th 2013 at the age of 90; and will be finishing the race on August 20th 2016 a day after his 93rd birthday!!! His is raising money to get the last WW2 LST 325 restored and back to its place on the beach of Normandy! Check out his website www.coast2coastruns.com
Meet at the Coast Guard Station at 0530. We’ll be shuttled to the Entrance to the Island where will will partake in a brutal beatdown! Then we’ll run with Ernie (approx 6:30am) back to the Coast Guard Station! Roughly 4.5 miles. (So sign up for a virtual 5k and you can get a medal!)
Obvisouly Ernie’s pace isn’t brisk, so invite any and everyone to run; M’s, 2.0’s, parents, etc. take this opportunity to EH a coworker or friend to the workout. I’ll buy a 12 pack for the Pax with the most FNG’s that partake in the double down!
After the race there will be a celebration on the beach from 8:30-9:30. Also there will be a lunch reception at American Legion Post 166 on the island from 12:00-15:00. All are invited.
Spread the word for this WW2 Vet doing the unimaginable!
